Instructions:

Due to the heavy incidence of outside interests who are not TVW members attempting to log on to the forum, we’ve disabled the registration function of the forum.

If you are a member of the Tennessee Valley Woodworkers, or feel that you should be considered a friend of benefit to the Club, click on the Contact Us link at the top of the home page or send an email to Loyd Ackerman or Chuck Taylor with your choice of username and a temporary password.

There are 15 Forums at the moment on various aspects of woodworking. You’ll see this on the first page. Click on the forum you wish to look into. You’ll go to another page on which various topics may appear or on which you can start a new topic.

To open a new topic, just click on the colorful button named “NEWTOPIC” and type in a name for a topic and your entry. It can be a question, a statement, or any other form you choose. To reply to a posted topic, just click on the “POSTREPLY” button.

To open an existing topic, click on the name of the topic you wish to see. For example: From the first page, I click on Design. That brings up a new page with a topic named Sketchup. I click on Sketchup and that brings up a page with a name Learning Tools (because I wish information on learning Sketchup). Clicking on that brings up a page with an on-going dialog between several members interested in Sketchup. As time goes on, there may be more pages added.

We don’t think it’ll take much instruction for you to figure out how to use the forum, but if once registered, you do have trouble with any aspect of the forum look at the bottom of the main forum page to find “The Team”, click on that link and choose one or more of the members to contact for help. Expect the team to change from time to time.

We hope that you will have a good time with this addition to the Club’s on-line experience. We wouldn’t expect any untoward behavior to occur on our forum and we’ve not established a lot of rules to restrict you, but Moderators are empowered to remove any posts considered offensive in their judgment. Just remember your Mother’s admonitions and everything will be OK.

Have a good time on the forum, learn and share your knowledge with the rest of us, and

Be Nice! (Thanks Mom!)

The Team!
